SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - Paul McCartney is coming to San Diego to play a concert at Petco Park.
McCartney's official website confirms his 'Out There' world tour will make a stop in San Diego on September 28 at Petco Park.
The concert will be McCartney's first in San Diego since 1976 when his 'Wings Over America' tour passed through the city. The Beatles played in San Diego in the 1960's. Ringo Starr and his band will be playing Humphreys Concerts by the Bay on Friday, July 11th.
McCartney - an international Beatles icon - will be in concert for Petco Park's 10th anniversary.
Mike Dee, San Diego Padres CEO stated in a press conference, "There is no bigger name in the world of music and no better way to celebrate that anniversary than hosting sir Paul McCartney. Anyone who has seen Sir Paul in concert knows it's more than that. I had the opportunity to see him perform in Miami. It's all the songs we all grew up with."
