Looking for a pet to match your low-key lifestyle? Look no further than Erika, a 9-year-old, 12-pound Shih Tzu blend!
This low-maintenance lady comes fully house-trained. Sure, she’d love to stroll and sniff around the yard, but her favorite place is the middle of your lap. She would be the perfect companion for an apartment dweller or someone older who takes life at slower pace. Erika may be a senior pet, but she still has the shiniest coat and biggest puppy dog eyes you’ve ever seen.
Erika is waiting to meet you at Helen Woodward Animal Center. She has been altered and is up-to-date on all of her vaccinations. Her adoption fee is $291. As with all pets adopted from Helen Woodward Animal Center, she is micro-chipped for identification. As an added bonus, she also comes with two free passes to Sea World.
Helen Woodward Animal Center is located at 6461 El Apajo Road in Rancho Santa Fe. Kennels are open daily Monday through Thursday from 12pm to 6pm; Friday from noon to 7pm; Saturday 10am to 6pm; and Sunday 11am to 6pm (last application accepted 15 minutes before closing). For more information, call 858-756-4117, option #1 or visit www.animalcenter.org.
Be a superhero to orphan pets!
The hottest ticket in San Diego this summer isn’t Comic Con; it’s PAWmicon! This is one of our most popular events of the year, and it takes place on Saturday, July 23 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Hazard Center in Mission Valley. Meet adoptable puppies, play carnival games and enter to win prizes. The highlight of the day is our version of the Masquerade, where pets (and sometimes their owners!) walk the runway in amazing character costumes.
