Helen Woodward Animal Center’s Education Department has been busy delivering spooky sights and fall fun at Howl-O-Ween Harvest Excursions since the beginning of October, but that hasn’t stopped them from coming up with some brand new surprises for this year’s Howl-O-Ween Harvest Family Day. In its second year, the event is packing in even more Halloween hijinks including Trick or Treat stations, a magical maze, and some creative contests. Parents and kids of all ages are invited to explore a Mansion of Mystery, meet creepy creatures, and partake in a host of other great Autumn-inspired activities. Kick off Halloween at Helen Woodward Animal Center’s “Howl-O-Ween Harvest Family Day,” Sunday, October 30th between 9am and 1pm at the Center’s Education Building (6461 El Apajo Road in Rancho Santa Fe).
Every year, creatures big and small look forward to the laughter, thrills and critters that make Helen Woodward Animal Center’s annual Howl-O-Ween Harvest Family Day a perfect Halloween-themed experience. This year’s attendees are in for even more fun as trick or treating stations, a magical maze, and costume and pumpkin-decorating contests have been added to the day’s festivities. “Mansion of Mystery” team-building excursions, and the event’s traditional features including animal interactions, face painting, crafts, and pumpkin picking are sure to be a hit with little goblins and ghouls.
“The popularity of last year’s event inspired us to get even more creative this year,” explained Education Manager Haylee Blake. “Giving the kids an opportunity to meet and learn about some of our “spookier” residents will always be the heart of this event, and we really feel that the new activities are a fun way to build on what kids already love about Howl-O-Ween Harvest.”
Howl-O-Ween Harvest Family Day kicks off at 9am on Sunday, October 30th and runs until 1pm. The cost is $13 per child (which includes animal interactions, all activities, and a mini pumpkin to take home.) Accompanying adults cost $5. Visitors can plan their arrival time around meeting and greeting their choice of favorite critters.
