DC v. Marvel: Level Playing Field?

Posted: Updated:

Is this the time where a worthy adversary is knocked down a peg or two?

DC Comics has struggled with movie adaptations in battling Marvel Comics. They only have to take on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, The Avengers: Infinity Wars, Spider-Man: Homecoming, Black Panther, Captain Marvel, and so much more. But the fruit is ripe for the picking right now for DC.

I will say this with the utmost sincerity and cannot underscore it enough. While the Wonder Woman stand-alone origin movie will tally up a win, both at the hands of a stellar casting, but also because the character is beloved more than Captain Marvel, in my opinion.

The new "Justice League" trailer that dropped recently got me from the get-go. Aquaman, for the first time in history, at least among my friends and acquaintances, could go down as the most popular DC superhero in a movie alone.

I mean, come on, you got Jason Mamoa - a badass among badasses - playing the king of the mermen, and it's coupled with Ben Affleck continuing on as Batman (let the jokes fly).

Additionally, it's pretty awesome to have Wonder Woman narrate the majority of the trailer.

What are your thoughts? Are you as excited as I am for this movie? Let me know on Twitter.
