L'Arte del Gelato Opens Three New Summer Locations at the Bowery Market, Whole Foods in Tribeca and Oculus Plaza

L’Arte del Gelato is proud to announce the opening of our newest summer pop-up store at the Bowery Market, the new carts at Whole Foods in Tribeca and Oculus Plaza.

The new temporary location at the Bowery Market continues the tradition of L’Arte del Gelato flagship in Chelsea Market while adding a summer touch in this vibrant and trendy area in Manhattan.

The lovely kiosk decorated with panels has been hand painted in Italy by Literarypaintings to create a truly Italian handmade kiosk.

The new carts both at Whole Foods in Tribeca and Oculus Plaza, will offer our customers all the freshness and tastiness of the Italian gelato.

Sicily serves as the ultimate inspiration for L’Arte del Gelato. We are not only inspired by the Sicilian gelaterie, born in the early 70’s but also by the artisanal, hand crafted Sicilian gelato that puts together the natural ingredients and an authentic, genuine tradition of making a natural product. L’Arte del Gelato, established in 2005 in Chelsea Market, has the ultimate commitment to produce an artisanal and authentic Sicilian gelato without using ready-made bases but only what we make by hand.

We use only fresh, local and seasonal ingredients and we import the top quality ingredients from all over the world, like Sicilian pistachio DOP from Bronte, vanilla from Tahiti, hazelnut from Piedmont.

Our Factory

Our new gelato factory is located in Long Island City, NY. It is a clean environment and is up to date with health and hygiene regulations as well as with sophisticated equipment.

The Owner

Francesco Realmuto is the founder and owner of “L’Arte del Gelato”.

Growing up in Sicily, before moving to NY in his twenties, Francesco always experienced the best quality food along with a unique Sicilian tradition.

After several years working as diamond cutter, he sensed a desire to relive his Sicilian heritage and share it with others.

Thus his decision to change his life and to take up a career that was so very dear to him – that of good, wholesome, traditional Italian food. The company enjoys today a strong reputation among consumers, retail, foodservice and restaurants for products highly regarded for quality, taste, nutrition, convenience and value.
