STRONG GUSTY WINDS AND LOW HUMIDITY...

* LOCATION...Mountains and foothills below 6,000 feet and the
valleys.

* WINDS...Areas of northeast winds developing and strengthening
this morning and continuing into Tuesday with strongest winds
from the mountain ridge tops into the inland valleys with winds
of 20 to 30 mph with gusts to 45 mph. Isolated gusts to 55 mph
are possible.

* HUMIDITY...Decreasing rapidly this morning, falling to 5 to
10 percent with poor recovery for tonight. There may be a
slight recovery on Tuesday with lowest humidity around 10
percent.

* OUTLOOK...Weaker and less widespread winds for Wednesday and
Thursday with a gradual recovery in humidity.

* IMPACTS...Fuels will dry quickly this morning with the onset
ofthe winds with increasing fire threat for late today into
Tuesday. Outdoor burning should be avoided.

canyons and near the coastal slopes of the Santa Ana Mountains.
The winds will not be as strong for tonight and Tuesday and not
quite as widespread with winds of 20 to 30 mph with gusts to 45
mph.

* HUMIDITY...5 to 10 percent with poor recovery for tonight.
There may be a slight recovery on Tuesday with lowest humidity
around 10 percent.

60 mph, and with isolated gusts to 80 mph below passes and
canyons and near the coastal slopes of the Santa Ana Mountains.

* Timing...Winds will strengthen and become more widespread early
today with the strongest winds for this morning.

* Impacts...Winds this strong may down trees and power lines,
causing property damage or power outages. Cross winds can make
driving difficult, especially for drivers of high profile
vehicles and vehicles towing trailers. Areas of blowing dust may
sharply limit visibility at times, especially in the Inland
Empire.

* Outlook...Northeast winds will not be quite as strong or
widespread for tonight and Tuesday with periods of weaker
northeast winds continuing for Wednesday and Thursday.

A High Wind Warning means a hazardous high wind event is expected
